Tim Duncan Retires After 19 NBA Seasons

After nearly two decades in the NBA, all with the San Antonio Spurs, all-star power forward, Tim Duncan has officially retired.
Since drafting Duncan out of Wake Forest with the first overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft, the Spurs went on to win 1,072 regular season games and 5 NBA titles. The first of those 5 championships coming in just his second year as a pro!
Duncan’s decision to retire opened the floodgates of praise from both fans and fellow NBA stars. Kobe Bryant, who also retired this season, was quoted saying that he “loved everything about [Duncan] on the court. Reigning NBA champion and Finals MVP, Lebron James, also thanked the Spurs legend and referred to him as the best Power Forward ever.
There is no debate that Tim Duncan will be missed when the lights turn back on this October. However his legacy is sure to live on through his accolades and great reputation, both on and off the court.
